Photo by Ermalyn JaeckOn May 6, 2012, Mark E. Ryman (C) was ordained and installed as the first North American Lutheran (NALC) pastor at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Asheboro, NC. Bishop John Bradosky (R, Hilliard, OH) ordained Pastor Ryman, and Rev. Carl Haynes (L) (Christiana Lutheran Church, Salisbury), the Dean of the Carolinas Mission District, installed him as their new pastor.

Pastor Ryman just finished twelve years as pastor of a church in Graham, NC. He and Susan, his wife of 35 years, are excited about ministry at Saint John’s: retaining a strong liturgical tradition, pastoral nurture, and biblical education, while strengthening Saint John’s outreach into the community and partnering with the NALC in world mission.

Mark and Susan are natives of Ohio. They earned their bachelor’s degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware. Mark earned a Masters Degree in Theological Studies from Houston Graduate School of Theology, Houston, TX, and a Master of Divinity degree from Carolina Graduate School of Divinity, Greensboro.
He is a member of the NALC and Lutheran CORE. Previous to coming to Asheboro, he has also been the chaplain of the Graham Police Department since 2004.
